Burlington was the site of a vast estate held by Joseph Brant (1742-1807), the leader of Mohawk and Six Nations peoples who had been a staunch British ally during the Seven Years War and the American revolution. Captain Brant\u2019s original settlement at the head of Burlington Bay gave way to farming and forestry; in the years prior to the 1987 construction of Lambs Court, our land was part of an extensive network of market gardens.<\/p>\n
Most residents find that once they have moved to Lambs Court, they choose to stay for unusually long periods \u2013 housing turnover is relatively low. In fact, some of the Enclave\u2019s original owners from 1987 are still in the same homes.
